Hundreds of pounds and counting! We are talking about all the candy collected through our Halloween Candy Buy Back.

Ruopp & Ruopp Dentistry is excited to report we've collected 228 pounds of candy so far! 

What's more, every sweet piece will help make a service member's holiday season brighter as we team up with Operation Gratitude!

Operation Gratitude sends more than 100,000 care packages each year to deployed Troops and Wounded Warriors. This is our third year to be a part of this project and help show service men and women: WE CARE!

Care packages include candy, snacks, entertainment items, and various other trinkets from home. Perhaps the most cherished items are the personal letters of appreciation addressed especially for each U.S. Service Member deployed in hostile regions.

This year Ruopp & Ruopp invited Millersville Elementary in Jackson R-2 school district and Saint Francis Xavier Catholic School in Sikeston to write letters or send pictures to the troops.

Principal Lance McClard of Millersville Elementary felt this would be a great lesson for Veterans Day. Every child in the school signed on! That's 80 children! Saint Francis Xavier also helped out last year and we are so excited to have their participation again!

We hope to expand our letter writing campaign next year to more schools and also the community in the years to come.

As for the Buy Back, we are thrilled with the community support for good health and this patriotic effort!

Supporting the troops is such a fantastic cause, and along with that we want to promote good oral hygiene. Dental decay is the #1 preventable disease in children today.
